Born and raised in the Twin Cities, Andrew has been playing professionally since the age of 19. Aside from lessons taken during middle and high school, he is essentially self taught, and has honed his skills by studying musical greats, past and present.
Andrew was a founding member of Story City, and has also appeared with a number of different jazz, fusion, and rock groups around the city such as Starting Point, Kolaberate, Gold Standard, The Paul Renz Quartet, and Xtended Play, among others. His main influences at this time include, of course, Michael Brecker, along with Chris Potter, Bob Mintzer, and Dexter Gordon.
